The Uluru Statement from the Heart is one of the most important documents of the past decade for Australia. Developed by an inclusive consultative process amongst first nation leaders, it captures what they respectfully request of Australia. At its core, the Uluru Statement asks for an Indigenous Voice to Parliament. The coming referendum offers us an opportunity to honour that request.

We need to make sure that the YES vote is maximised. No campaigning is wasted because positive votes in Victoria can offset negative votes in other states. No matter what the polls say, on the day every vote counts.

A YES vote would be a vote for an optimistic future, based on a desire for better outcomes for aboriginal people, from which we will all benefit. A YES vote would be a rejection of fear and misinformation and an affirmation of basic decency and generosity. If you vote YES you will be in very good company.
