ABC Friends Victoria is seeking advice or contacts to help develop a short, visual production to celebrate the 100th anniversary of radio in Australia later this year.

Radio broadcasting began in Australia on 23 November 1923 and, on 23 November 2023, ABC Friends Victoria is partnering with the Eureka Centre Ballarat to present an discussion of radio’s past, present and future.

ABC Friends members, Marion Crooke and Jennifer Bowen, are seeking to acknowledge the ways in which radio has adapted to new technology, output and audiences throughout its long history by possibly presenting a mash-up, animation which encapsulates '100 years in 100 seconds'.

This could be an opportunity for a young animator or short filmmaker building a portfolio or an established animator keen to assist.
