ABC Friends Northern group is having a fundraiser: film ‘Lee’ on Sunday 10 November, 3:00 at Thornbury Picture House, 802 High St, Thornbury. The cost is $25 plus 50c booking fee.

Lee starring Kate Winslet and Josh O’Connor is a drama about real-life WWII photographer Lee Miller.

In 1977, in her final years, Miller recounts to a young journalist her unlikely journey from 1930s model to photographer on the frontlines of WWII, where she captured history as it happened: the Blitz, the aftermath of D-Day, the horrors of the Third Reich, the wounds left across Europe.

Variety review said of this film:
