The ABC’s new Managing Director, Hugh Marks, gave a major presentation to staff last week in which he set out a strategy for the future built around four values: Aim High, Think Differently, Take Ownership, Deliver Together, complete with a colour-coded crib card.

These values, he explained, would inform five strategic themes: “being content-led, focusing on a three-platform strategy (News Digital, iview and listen), being strategic in our use of other platforms, focusing on quality over volume, and embedding a culture of excellence.”

The event included questions on other issues which were prominent in commentary that followed – particularly an admission that the Lattouf case had not been well handled.
