In the Amplify Young Designers competition we want to provoke thought and share the insights of our next generation of designers.

Who Can Enter
Designers in Australia aged 18-30 years old. Individuals or groups of up to 5 people.
Prompt
Design an engaging visual campaign (ie. social media posts, poster/billboard, videos, environmental, ux) for 18-30 year olds that explores and advocates for the ABC as an invaluable and trusted source of information in Australia. Consider the following prompt:
In a world of fake news, AI, misinformation and disinformation, where can you go for the truth?
Background
In today's media landscape, the challenge of misinformation and disinformation is more prevalent than ever. The ABC plays a crucial role in providing factual and reliable news, up to date information in crisis, Australian entertainment, and support for emerging artists. Your mission is to investigate the role of the ABC and design a campaign that explores the ABC as an antithesis to fake news and false information.Â
Submission Requirements

Entries must be submitted with the correct email subject line in digital format by the 20th of September. In the email body participants must outline:
- Your name (and group members names if applicable)
- Your age(s)
- Your email address (and group members email addresses)
- Your social media handles (optional)
- A 50-250 word rationale explaining the design concept.
- Each submission should include a 1-5 page PDF (or equivalent format, such as a website or video) showcasing the visual campaign.
- A compressed folder of finished artwork must be included.

Terms and Conditions for the Amplify Young Designers Competition
Eligibility
The competition is open to designers aged 18-30 years old, either as individuals or as groups of up to 5 people.
Entrants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents, or hold a valid Australian work visa.
Employees and immediate family members of ABC Friends Victoria and its other components, Groups, or Divisions of ABC Friends are ineligible to enter.

Originality and Ownership
All work submitted must be created solely by the entrant(s). If multiple people participate in the creation of the work, all participants will be credited.
The work must be original and created in Australia. It should not be a copy of any third party’s work.
Entrants must own all rights to the work. If the work is owned by a third party (e.g., employer or funder), the entrant must have the authority to enter the competition and to receive the prize if successful.
Deadline
All entries must be received by the deadline of 11:59pm AEST on the 20th of September 2024.
Use of Entries
By submitting an entry, you agree to licence ABC Friends Victoria to use, reproduce, publish and share your designs across our social media platforms (including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok) and on our website.
Entries may also be featured in ABC Friends Victoria communications.
We will provide attribution for all shared work and will make reasonable efforts to tag your social media profiles if provided. Inclusion of your social media handles is optional.
Prize
The competition prize is $1,000 AUD.
If a group wins, the prize will be shared equally among the group members.
The prize is non-transferable between participants.
Notification and Prize Claim
Winners will be notified via email and announced on ABC Friends Victoria’s social media platforms by the 4th of October.
The prize will be delivered within four (4) weeks of the winner providing necessary details to ABC Friends Victoria. The prize will be awarded to a single individual agreed upon by all group members if applicable.
Decision and Correspondence
The judges' decision is final and made at their sole discretion. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the decision.
Promotion and Publicity
By entering the competition, you agree that your images and personal details related to the competition and the prize may be used by ABC Friends Victoria for promotional, marketing, and publicity purposes.
Prize winners agree to be reasonably available for interviews and other promotional activities.
Data Use
Entrants will be granted 12 months of free membership to ABC Friends Victoria, commencing at the time of application. Entrants data will be entered into a database for future promotional, marketing, and publicity purposes. Read our privacy policy here: abcfriendsvic.org.au/privacy
Additional Costs
Prizes do not include additional components such as required travel, installation, taxes, etc. ABC Friends Victoria does not take responsibility for any additional costs incurred to redeem or use the prize.
Defamation
By entering the competition, you agree that your submission will not contain any content that is defamatory, libelous, or otherwise unlawful. You acknowledge that you are solely responsible for the content of your submission and that ABC Friends Victoria will not be held liable for any legal claims related to defamation arising from your entry. Any submission found to be in violation of these terms may be disqualified from the competition.
Changes to Terms
These terms and conditions are subject to change without notice, unless otherwise provided by applicable laws, governmental regulations, orders, and requirements.
Acceptance of Terms
Entry into the competition confirms the entrant's agreement to all terms and conditions of entry.
