ABC Friends Western Melbourne was delighted to be warmly welcomed to the Willy Lit Fest — the premier literary event in Melbourne’s West.

Our stall was conveniently located in the Hub, offering excellent opportunities to connect with festival patrons as they relaxed between sessions. With the generous support of the festival organisers, we were able to further our mission: to promote the value of the ABC and encourage new supporters to join our cause.

A special highlight was a photo opportunity featuring our volunteers, Rosie and Anne-Maree, with Steve Bracks — former Member for Williamstown and Premier of Victoria. Mr Bracks, a long-time friend of Xanana Gusmão (former Prime Minister of Timor-Leste), played a key role in shaping the Timor-Leste Development Plan.

It was another enjoyable and rewarding weekend for our team at the Willy Lit Fest, filled with meaningful conversations, warm interactions, and renewed inspiration for the work ahead.
