Competition in news media is fierce and surveys show public trust in news is declining. How is the ABC responding?
ABC Friends Inner Melbourne group is hosting an open meeting with ABC News Victorian Editor, Sarah Jaensch, and ABC7pm TV news presenter, Tamara Oudyn to get some answers.
How does the 24/7 newsroom operate? How does the ABC deal with misinformation? How does it think through its engagement with audiences? And what changes might be introduced in the future?
Bring your questions about ABC news – you can also give feedback of any concerns you have. The event is free and will be followed by light refreshments.
Sarah Jaensch began as an ABC cadet, worked on ABC News Breakfast and as Executive Producer at the ABC's Asia Pacific News Centre. She was Senior Producer for the 7pm news and 7.30’s Melbourne Bureau Chief before taking up her current position as Victorian News Editor.
